Esther Blumenfeld
Playwright, humorist and author Esther Blumenfeld has written several plays and hundreds of humorous articles that have appeared in numerous local and national publications. She also is the author of seven books with co-author Lynne Alpern.
Esther's first play, HERE AND THERE, had its world premiere at the Detroit Repertory Theatre (Actor's Equity/LORT) in 2003. It was the opening production of the theatre's 45th season and ran from November 6 through December 31.
Her critically-acclaimed play, UNDER MIDWESTERN STARS, had its world premiere on the main stage of the Kansas City Repertory Theatre (Actor's Equity/LORT) in Kansas City, MO, in the spring of 2007.
Esther's most recent play, FATHER'S ASHES, is currently being considered for production.

Esther also is a former contributing editor and humor columnist for Business Atlanta Magazine and Accent On Homes And Living Magazine. She has led workshops on humor for businesses and conventions, and has been featured on numerous television and radio programs in the United States and Canada.
For 10 years, Esther and her co-author taught a humor awareness course at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, called Adding Humor To Your Life: The Salt-Free, Low-Calorie, Polyunsaturated, All-Natural Guide To Feeling Good. She also taught two other courses -- Writing Humor: But Seriously Folks, and The Celery Stalks at Midnight: Writing a Cookbook for Fun and Profit. Esther has been guest faculty at numerous summer writers' conferences.
Esther is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
